Implement initial Python bindings for Open vSwitch database. These initial bindings pass a few hundred of the corresponding tests for C implementations of various bits of the Open vSwitch library API. The poorest part of them is actually the Python IDL interface in ovs.db.idl, which has not received enough attention yet. It appears to work, but it doesn't yet support writes (transactions) and it is difficult to use. I hope to improve it as it becomes clear what semantics Python applications actually want from an IDL.

ovs-test: A new tool that allows to diagnose connectivity and performance issues This tool will be a replacement for the current ovs-vlan-test utility. Besides from connectivity issues it will also be able to detect performance related issues in Open vSwitch setups. Currently it uses UDP and TCP protocols for stressing. Issue #6976

python: Create new vlog module. Currently, each python daemon has to come up with it's own logging solution. These logging strategies are not consistent across the python code or with the C vlog module. This patch adds a new logging module which hopes to solve the problem. This new module generates log messages in a manner consistent with the C code. Furthermore, it can easily be extended to support things like rate limiters in the future. This patch does not update any python code to use the new module.

Make installation directories overridable at runtime. This makes it possible to run tests that need access to installation directories, such as the rundir, without having access to the actual installation directories (/var/run is generally not world-writable), by setting environment variables. This is not a good way to do things in general--usually it would be better to choose the correct directories at configure time--so for now this is undocumented.
