We already assume this alignment, let the compiler know it, too.

A "conjunctive match" allows higher-level matches in the flow table, such
as set membership matches, without causing a cross-product explosion for
multidimensional matches. Please refer to the documentation that this
commit adds to ovs-ofctl(8) for a better explanation, including an example.

OpenFlow 1.5 (draft) extends the OFPAT_SET_FIELD action originally
introduced in OpenFlow 1.2 so that it can set not just entire fields but
any subset of bits within a field as well. This commit adds support for
that feature when OpenFlow 1.5 is used.
With this feature, OFPAT_SET_FIELD becomes a superset of NXAST_REG_LOAD.
Thus, this commit merges the implementations of the two actions into a
single ofpact_set_field.

Before commit c2d936a44fa6 (ofp-actions: Centralize all OpenFlow action
code for maintainability.), struct ofpact was 4 bytes with GCC and Clang,
and 12 bytes with other compilers. That commit changed struct ofpact so
that it remained 4 bytes with GCC and Clang but shrank to 8 bytes on other
compilers. An unexpected side effect of that change was that the size
of the pad[] array in struct ofpact_nest shrank to 0 bytes, because that
array padded to a multiple of 8 bytes. MSVC does not support 0-element
arrays, so this caused a build failure.
This commit fixes the problem by changing struct ofpact so that it is 4
bytes with every compiler.

Until now, knowledge about OpenFlow has been somewhat scattered around the
tree. Some of it is in ofp-actions, some of it is in ofp-util, some in
separate files for individual actions, and most of the wire format
declarations are in include/openflow. This commit centralizes all of that
in ofp-actions.
Encoding and decoding OpenFlow actions was previously broken up by OpenFlow
version. This was OK with only OpenFlow 1.0 and 1.1, but each additional
version added a new wrapper around the existing ones, which started to
become hard to understand. This commit merges all of the processing for
the different versions, to the extent that they are similar, making the
version differences clearer.
Previously, ofp-actions contained OpenFlow encoding and decoding, plus
ofpact formatting, but OpenFlow parsing was separated into ofp-parse, which
seems an odd division. This commit moves the parsing code into ofp-actions
with the rest of the code.
Before this commit, the four main bits of code associated with a particular
ofpact--OpenFlow encoding and decoding, ofpact formatting and parsing--were
all found far away from each other. This often made it hard to see what
was going on for a particular ofpact, since you had to search around to
many different pieces of code. This commit reorganizes so that all of the
code for a given ofpact is in a single place.
As a code refactoring, this commit has little visible behavioral change.
The update to ofproto-dpif.at illustrates one minor bug fix as a side
effect: a flow that was added with the action "dec_ttl" (a standard
OpenFlow action) was previously formatted as "dec_ttl(0)" (using a Nicira
extension to specifically direct packets bounced to the controller because
of too-low TTL), but after this commit it is correctly formatted as
"dec_ttl".
The other visible effect is to drop support for the Nicira extension
dec_ttl action in OpenFlow 1.1 and later in favor of the equivalent
standard action. It seems unlikely that anyone was really using the
Nicira extension in OF1.1 or later.

This allows callers to be more uniform, because they don't have to pick
out whether they should parse actions or instructions based on the OpenFlow
version in use. It also allows the Write-Metadata instruction emulation
in OpenFlow 1.0 to be treated just as in OpenFlow 1.1 in the sense that
it is allowed in contexts where instructions are allowed in OpenFlow 1.1
and not elsewhere. (The changes in the tests reflect this more accurate
treatment.)

This will allow, later, to centralize all of the knowledge of instruction
encoding inside ofp-actions.
OFPIT11_ALL and OFPIT13_ALL are no longer used, so this commit removes
them. Their definitions were wrong (they did not shift each bit into
position correctly), so this commit is also a small bug fix.

Until now, sets of actions have been abstracted separately outside
ofp-actions, as enum ofputil_action_bitmap. Drawing sets of actions into
ofp-actions, as done in this commit, makes for a better overall
abstraction of actions, with better consistency.
A big part of this commit is shifting from using ofp12_table_stats as if
it were an abstraction for OpenFlow table stats, toward using a new
struct ofputil_table_stats, which is what we generally do with other
OpenFlow structures and fits better with the rest of the code.

When a flow with a "learn" action is deleted, one often wants the flows
that it created (the "learned flows") to be deleted as well. This commit
makes that possible.
I am aware of a race condition that could lead to a learned flow not being
properly deleted. Suppose thread A deletes a flow with a "learn" action.
Meanwhile, thread B obtains the actions for this flow and translates and
executes them. Thread B could obtain the actions for the flow before it is
deleted, but execute them after the "learn" flow and its learned flows are
deleted. The result is that the flow created by thread B persists despite
its "learn" flow having been deleted. This race can and should be fixed,
but I think that this commit is worth reviewing without it.

Most other code in Open vSwitch that works with flow cookies keeps them
in network byte order. Using network byte order in struct ofpact_learn,
also, reduces the number of byte order conversions needed across the
source tree.

Allocate struct rule_actions and the space for the actions at once.
This reduces one memory indirection and helps reduce cache misses
visible in perf annotations.
Fix some old comments referring to ref count, since we now use RCU for
this.
Enforce constness of the actions that are assigned from rule_actions
throughout the code.

struct ofpact has enums that are packed in case of __GNUC__.
This packing does not occur for visual studio. For 'struct ofpact_nest',
we are currently expecting that "struct ofpact actions[]" has an offset of
8 bytes. This condition won't be true in compilers where enums are
not packed.
It is good enough if struct ofpact actions[] starts at an offset which is
a multiple of OFPACT_ALIGNTO.

OpenFlow 1.1 and 1.2 always inserted MPLS labels after VLAN tags.
OpenFlow 1.3 and 1.4 insert MPLS labels before VLAN tags.
OpenFlow 1.3.4 and 1.5, both in preparation, recognize that the change in
1.3 was an error and revert it. This commit implements that reversion
in Open vSwitch.

Until now ofpacts_check() has been told either to enforce consistency or
not, but that means that the caller has to know exactly what protocol is
going to be in use (because some protocols require consistency to be
enforced and others don't). This commit changes ofpacts_check() to just
rule out protocols that require enforcement when it detects
inconsistencies.

OpenFlow 1.1+ specs encourage switches to verify action consistency
at flow setup time. Implement this for OpenFlow 1.1+ only to not

In OpenFlow 1.1 and 1.2, the push_mpls action pushes the MPLS label after
any existing VLAN tag. In OpenFlow 1.3, it pushes the label before any
existing VLAN tag. Until now, the action parser didn't distinguish these
cases. This commit adds support. Nothing yet actually changes the
behavior of push_mpls.

Implementation note:
All actions which modify a field are added to the action set
at the point where "set" actions should be added. In general
modifying a field many times is the same as only modifying it
the last time so the implementation simply adds all set actions to
the action set in the order they are specified. However, this breaks
down if two actions modify different portions of the same field.
Some examples.
1. load acting a subfield
2. mod_vlan_vid, mod_vlan_pcp
If this is considered to be a problem one possible solution would be to
either disallow all set actions other than set_field in write_actions.
Another possible solution is prohibit problematic the actions listed above
in write actions.

The OFPFF_* flags used in flow_mods are just confusing enough that it
seems worthwhile to try to abstract them out. In particular:
* OFPFF_EMERG was introduced in OF1.0, deleted in OF1.1, and then
its bit was reused for a different purpose in OF1.2.
* OFPFF_RESET_COUNTS was introduced in OF1.2 but the semantics that it
specifies are implied by "add" commands in earlier versions, so
proper translation requires the OpenFlow version number and flow_mod
command.
This commit does the abstraction.

Usually the table id in flow mods is 255, which means that goto table
instruction cannot be checked before the table is picked (for flow add),
or the rules to be modified are found (flow mod).
Move goto table checking from decode (ofp-util) to actions checking
(ofp-actions), and postpone the action checking until the table in
which the actions are added is known.
This fixes OFPBRC_BAD_TABLE_ID errors for flow adds that specify the table
id as 255, and have a goto table instruction.

Until now, datapath ports and openflow ports were both represented by
unsigned integers of various sizes. With implicit conversions, etc., it is
easy to mix them up and use one where the other is expected. This commit
creates two typedefs, ofp_port_t and odp_port_t. Both of these two types
are marked by "__attribute__((bitwise))" so that sparse can be used to
detect any misuse.

Found a bug that OVS allows goto_table_id to be smaller than (or equal to)
the current table id where the flow resides. It potentially creates an
infinite loop when composing actions for a packet. To fix it, we just let
OVS returns an error message to prevent such flow to be programmed.

Define a new NXAST_SAMPLE OpenFlow vendor action and the corresponding
OFPACT_SAMPLE OVS action, to do per-flow packet sampling, translated
into a new SAMPLE "flow_sample" dp action.
Make the userspace action's userdata size vary depending on the union
member used. Add a new "flow_sample" upcall to do per-flow packet
sampling. Add a new "ipfix" upcall to do per-bridge packet sampling
to IPFIX collectors.
Extend the OVSDB schema to support configuring IPFIX collector sets.
Add support for configuring multiple IPFIX collectors for per-flow
packet sampling. Add support for configuring per-bridge IPFIX
sampling.
Automatically generate standard IPFIX entity definitions from the IANA
specs. Send one IPFIX data record message for every packet sampled by
an OpenFlow sample action or received by a bridge configured with
IPFIX sampling, and periodically send IPFIX template set messages.

The Push action takes a single parameter. Any source allowed by NXAST_REG_MOVE
is allowed to be pushed onto the stack. When the source is a bit field,
its value will be right shifted to bit zero before being pushed onto the
stack. The remaining bits will be set to zero.
The Pop action also takes a single parameter. Any destination allowed by
NXAST_REG_MOVE can be used as the destination of the action. The value, in
case of a bit field, will be taken from top of the stack, starting from
bit zero.
The stack size is not limited. The initial 8KB is statically allocated to
efficiently handle most common use cases. When more stack space is
required, the stack can grow using malloc().
