0fb88c18fb ofp-util: Abstract flow_mod OFPFF_* flags.
The OFPFF_* flags used in flow_mods are just confusing enough that it
seems worthwhile to try to abstract them out. In particular:

    * OFPFF_EMERG was introduced in OF1.0, deleted in OF1.1, and then
its bit was reused for a different purpose in OF1.2.

    * OFPFF_RESET_COUNTS was introduced in OF1.2 but the semantics that it
specifies are implied by "add" commands in earlier versions, so
proper translation requires the OpenFlow version number and flow_mod
      command.

This commit does the abstraction.

e3b5693319 Fix table checking for goto table instruction.
Usually the table id in flow mods is 255, which means that goto table
instruction cannot be checked before the table is picked (for flow add),
or the rules to be modified are found (flow mod).

Move goto table checking from decode (ofp-util) to actions checking
(ofp-actions), and postpone the action checking until the table in
which the actions are added is known.

This fixes OFPBRC_BAD_TABLE_ID errors for flow adds that specify the table
id as 255, and have a goto table instruction.

4e022ec09e Create specific types for ofp and odp port
Until now, datapath ports and openflow ports were both represented by
unsigned integers of various sizes. With implicit conversions, etc., it is
easy to mix them up and use one where the other is expected. This commit
creates two typedefs, ofp_port_t and odp_port_t. Both of these two types

dd43a55859 Do not perform validation in learn_parse();
I believe this is consistent with the handling of all other action
parsing called from parse_named_action().

Verification of all actions, including learn actions, occurs separately
in ofpact_check__(). It also occurs via in a call to ofpacts_check()
in parse_ofp_str(),

This patch is larger than might otherwise be expected as the flow argument
of learn_parse() is now unused and thus removed. This propagates up the
call-chain some way.

This implementation was suggested by Jesse Gross in response to an
enhancement I made to the validation performed during parsing learn actions
to allow it to correctly account for changes to the dl_type due to MPLS
push and pop actions.

Tests have also been updated to check for the less specific messages
generated by the call to ofpacts_check() in parse_ofp_str() which at the
suggestion of Ben Pfaff was added by a prior patch for this purpose.

b019d34da6 Check actions prerequisites in parse_ofp_str()
Add a call to ofpacts_check() in parse_ofp_str() to check pre-requisites.
This is in preparation for removing special-case pre-requisite checking
of learn actions which is useful for the test-suite.

This patch also fixes two tests which this change revealed to be incorrect.

1. Open Flow 1.0 action which sets NXM_NX_IPV6_SRC
   without any pre-requisites

This is not valid because there should be an IPv6 pre-requisite.

This portion of the test has been removed as IPv6 pre-requisites are
only valid when using OXM or NXM, however the test appears
to be a (non-NXM) Open Flow 1.0 test.

It has been replaced with a similar test of an action
that sets the IPv4 source address.

2. Open Flow 1.2 action which sets NXM_NX_IPV6_SRC
   without any pre-requisites.

This is not valid because there should be an IPv6 pre-requisite.

This test has been corrected by adding IPv6 as a pre-requisite,
which is valid for Open Flow 1.2 as it uses OXM.

Use of ofpacts_check() in parse_ofp_str() suggested by Ben Pfaff.

bd85dac14e nicira-ext: Add Nicira actions NXAST_STACK_PUSH and NXAST_STACK_POP.
The Push action takes a single parameter. Any source allowed by NXAST_REG_MOVE
is allowed to be pushed onto the stack. When the source is a bit field,
its value will be right shifted to bit zero before being pushed onto the
stack. The remaining bits will be set to zero.

The Pop action also takes a single parameter. Any destination allowed by
NXAST_REG_MOVE can be used as the destination of the action. The value, in
case of a bit field, will be taken from top of the stack, starting from
bit zero.

The stack size is not limited. The initial 8KB is statically allocated to
efficiently handle most common use cases. When more stack space is
required, the stack can grow using malloc().

b02475c53b User-Space MPLS actions and matches
This patch implements use-space datapath and non-datapath code
to match and use the datapath API set out in Leo Alterman's patch
"user-space datapath: Add basic MPLS support to kernel".

The resulting MPLS implementation supports:
* Pushing a single MPLS label
* Poping a single MPLS label
* Modifying an MPLS lable using set-field or load actions
that act on the label value, tc and bos bit.
* There is no support for manipulating the TTL
  this is considered future work.

The single-level push pop limitation is implemented by processing
push, pop and set-field/load actions in order and discarding information
that would require multiple levels of push/pop to be supported.

e.g.
push, push -> the first push is discarded
pop,pop -> the first pop is discarded

This patch is based heavily on work by Ravi K.

4cceacb94c ofp-actions: Implement writing to metadata field

We introduce NXAST_WRITE_METADATA to handle writing to the metadata field in

c6100d9214 ovs-ofctl: Accept port keywords, OF1.1 port numbers, reject port number 0.
OpenFlow 1.0 has special reserved ports in the range 0xfff8 to 0xffff.
OpenFlow 1.1 and later has the same ports in the range 0xfffffff8 to
0xffffffff and allows the OF1.0 range to be used for ordinary ("physical")
switch ports. This means that, naively, the meaning of a port number in
the range 0xfff8 to 0xffff given on the ovs-ofctl command line depends on
the protocol in use. This commit implements something a little smarter:

    - Accept keyword names (e.g. LOCAL) for special reserved ports
everywhere that such a port can plausibly be used (previously they
were only accepted in some places).

    - Translate 0xfff8...0xffff to 0xfffffff8...0xffffffff for now, since
OF1.1+ isn't in widespread use and those particular ports aren't
likely to be in use in OF1.1+ anyway.

    - Log warnings about those ports when they are specified by number, to
allow users to fix their invocations.

Also:

    - Accept the OF1.1+ port numbers for these ports, without warning, for
compatibility with the upcoming OF1.1+ support.

    - Stop accepting port number 0, which has never been a valid port
number in OpenFlow 1.0 and later. (This required fixing some tests
that inadvertently used this port number).

c2d967a562 Add Nicira vendor extension action NXAST_DEC_TTL_CNT_IDS.
Currently, if a controller having a nonzero id registers to get a
OFPR_INVALID_TTL async message, it will not receive it. This is because

id. NXAST_DEC_TTL_CNT_IDS is a new action that accepts a list of controller

The earlier requirement of the controller having to explicitly register to

OpenFlow switching monitoring and controller coordination can be made more
efficient if the switch can notify a controller of flow table changes as
they occur, rather than periodically polling for changes. This commit
implements such a feature.

Feature #6633.

d01c980ffe ofp-actions: Add decoding and encoding OF1.1 instructions and actions.
So far, only the Apply-Actions instruction is supported, and only
actions that have identical semantics to OpenFlow 1.0 actions.

f25d0cf3c3 Introduce ofpacts, an abstraction of OpenFlow actions.
OpenFlow actions have always been somewhat awkward to handle.
Moreover, over time we've started creating actions that require more
complicated parsing. When we maintain those actions internally in
their wire format, we end up parsing them multiple times, whenever
we have to look at the set of actions.

When we add support for OpenFlow 1.1 or later protocols, the situation
will get worse, because these newer protocols support many of the same
actions but with different representations. It becomes unrealistic to
handle each protocol in its wire format.

This commit adopts a new strategy, by converting OpenFlow actions into
an internal form from the wire format when they are read, and converting
them back to the wire format when flows are dumped. I believe that this
will be more maintainable over time.

690a61c50a ofp-util: Add OFPUTIL_ACTION_INVALID to enum ofputil_action_code.
Possibly the ofputil_decode_action() interface should be rethought now
that ofputil_action_code has an invalid value.

623e1caf2f ofp-util: Clean up cookie handling.
Commit e72e793 (Add ability to restrict flow mods and flow stats
requests to cookies.) modified cookie handling. Some of its behavior
was unintuitive and there was at least one bug (described below).
Commit f66b87d (DESIGN: Document uses for flow cookies.) attempted to
document a clean design for cookie handling. This commit updates the
DESIGN document and brings the implementation in line with it.

In commit e72e793, the code that handled processing OpenFlow flow
modification requests set the cookie mask to exact-match. This seems
reasonable for adding flows, but is not correct for matching, since
OpenFlow 1.0 doesn't support matching based on the cookie. This commit
changes to cookie mask to fully wildcarded, which is the correct
behavior for modifications and deletions. It doesn't cause any problems
for flow additions, since the mask is ignored for that operation.
